Ahab

Ahab began with a chance find in an Ontario antique shop — a small metal object I couldn’t identify. After cleaning, the words Brown’s Fishery appeared, linking it to work on the water, likely in Michigan.

Its maritime past inspired the name Ahab, after the seafaring captain of Moby-Dick. The original float is held within carefully shaped lacewood, cut to fit the form exactly, creating a union of found history and craftsmanship.
With warm wood, aged metal, and an object that has already travelled far, Ahab carries the quiet pull of stories still untold.
